Privacy Policy
Effective September 2, 2026. The English text governs.
Legacy 2K is a website for running online NBA 2K MyNBA leagues. This policy explains what information we collect when you use it, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It is written in plain language on purpose. If anything here is unclear, email us at the address at the bottom of this page.
Who runs Legacy 2K
Legacy 2K is operated by the Legacy 2K team. Each league on the platform is set up and managed by its own commissioner, who decides who joins that league and what league data is entered.
Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account we collect the details you give us:
- Your email address.
- A username, and your gamertag / PSN ID (how you are identified inside a league).
- If you set a password, a securely hashed version of it — we never store your password in readable form.
- If you sign in with Google, basic profile information Google returns (your email and name) so we can create and recognize your account. We do not receive your Google password.
- If you sign in with an emailed one-time login code, the code is generated by us and sent to your email so we can confirm it is you.
League data
Commissioners and coaches enter data to run their league. This includes game scores and standings, team rosters and player details, contracts and trades, league news, and the LP that the platform calculates from league activity. This data belongs to the league it was entered in and is visible to that league.
Uploaded screenshots
To record a game result you can upload a box-score screenshot. We send that image to an automated image-recognition service that reads the numbers off it so scores can be entered quickly. The image and the data read from it are stored with your league's records. We do not use your uploads to advertise to you or sell them to anyone.
Discord
A commissioner can connect their league to a Discord server. When connected, Legacy 2K posts league updates — such as matchups, results, and league news — to the Discord channel the commissioner chose. We only post to a server after a commissioner connects it, and we post league content, not your private information.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies that are needed for the site to work:
- A session cookie that keeps you signed in as you move between pages.
- A security (CSRF) cookie that protects forms from being submitted by other sites.
- For admins who turn on extra login security, a “trust this browser” cookie that lasts about 30 days so you are not asked for a second code on every visit.
We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
How we use your information
We use the information above to create and secure your account, to run the leagues you belong to, to read box-score screenshots you upload, to post updates to a Discord server your commissioner has connected, and to send you account and league emails. We send email through Resend, an email delivery service, acting on our behalf.
How your information is shared
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show ads. We share information only as needed to run the service:
- Within your league, so other members can see league activity (for example your gamertag, team, and results).
- With service providers that operate parts of the platform on our behalf — the automated image-recognition service that reads screenshots, our email delivery provider, image storage, and Discord for the updates a commissioner connects.
- If the law requires it, or to protect the safety and rights of our users and the service.
Where your data is stored
Legacy 2K is hosted in Canada (with our hosting provider OVH). Depending on the services above, some data may be processed elsewhere by our service providers.
Keeping your data
We keep your account and league data while your account is active and your leagues are running, so that league history and LP stay intact. You can ask us to delete your personal data at any time (see below).
Your choices
You can review and update your profile from your account, and you can ask us to delete your account and personal data by emailing the address below. Note that removing your account does not necessarily erase league records that other members contributed to; where we can, we remove or anonymize your personal details.
Children
Legacy 2K is intended for people old enough to hold accounts on the gaming and social services it connects to. It is not directed at children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we make a meaningful change to this policy we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Legacy 2K after a change means you accept the updated policy.
