The Legacy Rating is the GM’s career rating. It follows you (your account, even if your gamertag changes) from one franchise to another, from one season to the next and into the league that continues this one. Every game played moves it: beating a higher-rated GM earns a lot, beating a lower-rated GM earns little, and losing to him costs a lot. The score margin counts, but a blowout is not worth twice a clear win.
Your roster counts too: before each game the rating compares both rosters, the 3 best players weighing 3 times more than the others. Winning with the weaker roster earns more; losing with the stronger one costs more. Everyone starts at 1500; the first 10 games move faster so a newcomer finds his level quickly, and a rank needs 5 games. It earns and costs no Legacy Points.
You are at 1500 and beat a GM rated 1650 by 10 points, with rosters of equal strength. You had a 30% chance: you gain +43 and he loses 43. Lose that game by 10 and you only give back 16.
The same win with a roster 2 points weaker: +51; 2 points stronger: +36. Between two GMs still in their first 10 games: +116.

Wins by a GM whose estimated chance before the game was 25% or less, roster strength included, ordered by that chance.
Model V2 starts every GM at 1500 on an Elo scale of 400, with no home advantage. A GM’s first 10 career games move at K 64, every later one at K 24; a game uses the mean of both GMs’ K, so what one wins the other loses. The change grows with the logarithm of the score margin, without a cap, and less for a heavy favourite.
The pre-game estimate adds 39 rating points per point of roster strength between the two teams on the game date: the best 8 player ratings, the top 3 weighing 3 times more. Rosters are rebuilt from recorded roster moves and approved trades; 2K rating updates made outside the app are not seen.
A GM’s rating continues from the earlier leagues this league succeeds. At the first eligible game of this league and of each new season, observed ratings move 25% toward their mean, including former GMs. Peak means the highest rating reached after a result here. All games follow their recorded date, then their unique order; returning to an earlier season does not repeat the regression.
Only dated, played games with both scores and two distinct recorded GMs count. Simulations, missing identities and undated history are excluded. Earlier history can be incomplete. Ratings have no effect on league currency.
